High School Principal's Welcome

Hello, Jr/Sr High Families!

I am excited to be in my 3rd year as the Richland Jr/Sr High principal (and my second year in the dual role of principal and superintendent). This is my 9th year as an administrator and my 7th as a principal. I love working closely with kids in this role and have loved every minute of my time with Richland students.

One exciting change this year is we are introducing Apple iPads to students as our new personal learning device.  The iPads will come with a case and keyboard so that students can practice traditional (and important) typing skills.  As we transition back to in-person learning from last spring’s distance learning, we are moving more of our content online. Specifically, we will still utilize Google Classroom for students to turn in most assignments. That way, if we have to move to distance learning (plans C or D), kids can pick up right where we left off.

We will continue to use PowerSchool for all attendance and grades. I highly encourage all parents and students to activate their PowerSchool accounts to stay up to date on important student information. Parents can set up alerts in PowerSchool to get as much or little information as they would like.

While this will be a different year, we will still make it a great one. We plan to have as many activities as possible while maintaining a safe environment for our kiddos.

Welcome back, Richland Colts – we’re going to have a great 2020-2021 school year!
