Warm Weather Gear: 

It is that time of year when the weather can be very unpredictable.  Please make sure your child has adequate warm weather gear to play outside each day.


Lunch Balance: 

As a reminder, this year students are allowed to take “seconds” at lunch.  The cost of “seconds” of the main entre is $1 and the cost of a PBJ is $.75.  See the attachment for more information.  Please check your child’s lunch account balance often.


Richland #44 Colt Spirit Day:

Friday, September 23 is Spirit Day.  Please remind your child to wear colt colors to show off their Homecoming SPIRIT!


Apples Wanted! Richland Elementary is participating in a region “crunch off” on September 26. We are looking for donations of locally grown apples to serve students for lunch. If you have apples to share – please drop them off at the elementary school by Friday, September 23rd.


Richland County Health Department will be performing Vision Screenings on students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade on Friday, September 23 at 9:00 am. Click HERE for more info.

Homecoming week is September 19-23!

Homecoming Shirts are in!!  There are a few extra t-shirts available for sale, $15/ea.  If interested, contact the office at 701-372-3713.

FFA KISS THE GOAT – Bring your money and put it in the jar by Kendra’s office window for the teacher you want to see kiss the goat at halftime of Friday’s game. $ earned goes to SIDS research. Teachers participating are Dr. Gandhi, Mrs. Roth, Mr. Timm and Mr. Dave Pasqual.


There will be a Homecoming Dance for grades 7-12 on September 23rd from 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Cost is $2 for Richland Students and $5 for Non-Richland Students.


Tickets for Pie a teacher is available in Mr. Neagbour’s room for $2.


High School Dress up Days:

ASVAB testing will be Thursday, Sept. 22nd from 8:25 – 11:30 am for ALL JUNIORS. You will report to the library first thing in the morning at 8:25 for testing.


TEAM BANNER PICTURE order forms are in the office.  If interested in ordering, please return to the office by September 23.


There is a sign-up on the FCCLA bulletin board for the FCCLA District Leadership Meeting at the Fargodome Wednesday, November 2.  T-shirt signup is due Friday, September 30. Payment of $20 is due Friday October 7.


ALL JUNIORS – Please fill out the survey sent in your email, to let Ms. Monroe know, YES or NO, if you are taking the PSAT/NMSQT test on Oct 12th. This is a great test to take to see what areas you need to work on before you take the SAT and by taking the PSAT/NMSQT as a junior, students may meet the requirements to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. The test does cost $18 that you will need to pay for. If you plan to take the test, the survey asks how you plan to pay for the test.


DSF Volunteers:  Seniors remember you need to volunteer for four or more activities that DFS hosts to be eligible for local DFS scholarships!!  Any other students can volunteer and get ahead on the volunteering efforts also!  One can be selling 50/50 tickets at either volleyball or football games.  Volleyball you will sell for the first two games and draw before the third and in football you sell the first half and draw at halftime.   Please contact Tammy Miller at 701-741-4355 if you are able to help out at any of the home games!  Thanks

DATE: TODAY, Thursday, Sept 22nd WHERE: Abercrombie Community Center When: 7:00pm. No tickets required – free will offering taken.


The Colts Volleyball Team would like to show their support for anyone and everyone who might be fighting this battle. To support this fight, the volleyball team is selling “Fight Cancer” t-shirts and the team encourages fans to wear the shirt to volleyball games during the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During October the volleyball team also sports pink jerseys for awareness.

The cost of the shirts is $20.  Proceeds from the sales of these shirts will be donated to a local Breast Cancer Awareness non-profit. Orders can be placed HERE. The deadline for orders is this Friday, September 23rd.


Homecoming Parade is back this year sponsored by Richland #44 Dollars for Scholars!   September 23rd starting at 5:30 (line up at 5pm at the ball diamonds).  Please contact Tammy Miller at 701-741-4355 if you would like to sign up or have questions. You can also fill out the Parade sign up sheet.  Changes this year will be: NO WALKERS!!  This helps keep everyone safe and the parade moving along for people to get to tailgating.  Also, ANY DRIVER (car, tractor, any motorized vehicle) MUST HAVE A LICENSE.  This way we won’t have any underage drivers and it helps with consistency.  We appreciate your cooperation! We look forward to hearing from many school organizations, classes and businesses to make this another fun parade to have an amazing end to the Homecoming week and get many people to the game to cheer on the Colts!  Go Colts! Flag Football for grades 2-4 on the following Saturday’s – 9/24 and 10/1 from 8:30 am – 10:30 am at the high school football field in Colfax. No signup needed, kids can just show up and play! BUNDLE UP YOUR BABY BUMP- Wahpeton’s St. John’s Walking with Moms in Need is hosting ND Catholic Charities bi-annual Bundle Up Your Baby Bump event on Sept. 24 from 1-4 at St. John’s School gym.  This is a free event for moms and families needing some extra help in gathering clothing for their family. Parking available in the south church parking lot.   Please enter the school doors to sign up for door prizes and enter the event.  The event offers items for expecting moms, newborns through size 5T. Richland WELCA Luncheon & Bake Sale – Sunday, October 2nd from Noon to 2:00 pm at Richland Lutheran Church, Rural Walcott. Soup, Sandwich and Pie Lunch $10. $5 for 10 and under. Takeout will be available.


Hunter Safety Classes will be held at the Abercrombie Community Center October 12 (6:30pm-9:00pm), 22 (8am-5pm), and 23 (1pm-5pm).  All sessions must be attended to complete the course.  **Students must be 11 by the end of this calendar year to enroll. Registration opens soon, please keep checking the website HERE.  Next available session in Abercrombie will be in March 2023.
