CLASS PICTURES:  Scherlings will be out the morning of Friday, March 18th for class pictures.  THIS INCLUDES SENIOR CLASS PICTURE.


ELEMENTARY GROUP PICTURES:  Scherlings will be taking Team pictures for both elementary boys basketball and girls volleyball as well as elementary BAND pictures on Friday, March 18.   Order forms for team pictures will be sent home from practice.


Seniors:  Please turn in Senior pictures to Kendra.  Pictures for Yearbook, Graduation, Daily News, and Wall Composite are needed.  Baby picture for senior video and any fun/candid pictures for the video can also be turned in.  Jump drive of digital photos would be preferred, but pictures can be emailed as well   Please have Senior pictures turned in by March 11.  Pictures for video should be turned in by April 22.

Job Openings

We are looking for a sub for our after-school program (ASP) from the end of April to the end of May. Times are 3-6pm on school days. Please contact Principal Schmitz at the elementary school for more information.


Route Bus Driver – Routes run each morning and afternoon on school days. Class B license with school bus and passenger endorsements are needed. Call the district office at 701-372-3713 for more details. Apply online:


Substitutes for Kitchen Staff Needed!! – We are currently looking for Cook subs!  If interested, please contact either school office for more details.  Pay is $12/hour.


Substitute Teachers – $120/day plus School Lunch. ND substitute teaching licenses require: 48 hours of college coursework (degree not required), Background check, and Online application. If interested, contact either of our offices. Elementary – 701-553-8321 High School – 701-372-3713.


Route Subs – $70/day or $35/route. Activity driving $14/hour. Requirements; Class B License with school bus endorsement; background check and finger printing; physical completed every 2 years; random drug/alcohol testing. Apply here

SCHEDULE CHANGE: With the girls win over Sargent County last night, the boys’ game that was scheduled for tonight will be pushed back to tomorrow with a JV start time of 2:30, varsity to follow.

*Due to numerous games being rescheduled in our region, the decision was made that all region 1 play in games will be play on Thursday March 3rd, not Tuesday March 1st. Stay tuned for more information regarding opponent, location, and time.


Spring Trap League: Parent/Athlete Trap Meeting, Sunday, February 27 @ 4:00 pm in the High School Commons. There will be assistance with anyone still needing help with registration at that time, plus answering questions about the upcoming season.

Registration is now open and closes March 21 at Noon for 6th – 12th Grade. (Must have Hunter’s Safety Education completed prior to registration closing). League is 9 weeks starting at the end of March with the State Tournament in June. For students who are planning on participating in the Spring Trap Shooting league and need Hunter Ed Certification there will be class held on March 8th from 6:30pm -9:00pm, March 12th from 8am-5pm and March 13th from 1pm to 5pm.  Held at the Abercrombie community hall.  You must attend all 3 sessions.   Registration is to be completed online with the North Dakota Game and Fish website.  Class size is limited and on a first come basis so register right away.  Must be 11 this year to take the class.  Contact Keith Kinneberg or Alexis Peltier if there are any questions.



Seniors:  Dollars for Scholars scholarships are open for North Dakota now until April 1 and our local chapter scholarships will open February 1 through March 18th!!  Be sure to get your profiles done and start applying for scholarships!   If you have any questions, please contact one of the DFS members!!


CHRISTIAN COLTS – ALL STUDENTS WELCOME! – Thursdays at 7:15 am until 8:15 am in the HS Library.  Donuts, Juice, Fellowship, Bible Study, Prayer, Activities, and Fun!  Hosted by Pastor Julé Ballinger & Pastor Janelle Hanson.



LAST SKATING LESSONS for this year will be Saturday, February 26th starting at 10:30am. Use this sign-up link to get signed up for the lessons! To thank our community for all their support; SUNDAY, Feb. 27th at 5pm the rink will be hosting a Family Night, a light meal of soup & refreshments will be provided. Enjoy skating, a campfire, an outdoor movie, and s’more making! There will also be a few door prizes given out to a couple lucky winners! Weather permitting of course!
